Axle to support gap on B's

At first I thought it was me, but this makes 2 now. When I put the front axle under my B, the rear pivot goes back snug to the support under the torque tube. The arch is about 1/4" forward of the support plate. This has to put a tremendous load on the pin. On my other one the pin was replaced with a 7/8" bolt, and I was able to install a piece of 1/4" steel plate between the arch and the support. This tractor, the pin has been replaced, but there is still about 1/4" clearance between it and the arch. Yes, the proper spacers are on the back of the plate (between the plate and the block). I suppose I could build a nice set of shims for in there and make some langer radiator hoses but it just strikes me as something being wrong.

Doesn't help much, but you could weld a piece of steel, shaped like a piece of angle iron, above the pin and then down in front of the axle, with a hole drilled in it to give additional support to the wishbone. It won't do a lot, but it does give a little extra support for those days when you just gotta overload the front end.
