Can I split (move apart) the halves of a B to replace the oil pump with out the drive shaft falling out of the clutch. Any easy way
to replace the oil pump. Is there anyone rebuilding oil pumps?

No but that is not a problem. The drive shaft is held on center with the throw out bearing.

rebuilding the oil pump is not difficult. It is just a set of vanes mounted between two plates and a housing. There are gaskets on each plate. The thickness of the gaskets determines the clearance between the end cover plates and the vanes. Your trying to get this to a minimum to keep volumn up. Look which way the vanes are mounted. Probably spring below each vane.

The drive shaft will not fall out.
But you will need to remove the pressure plate, clutch plate, and flywheel.
This will require realignment when reinstalling.
What make you think you have an oil pump problem? No oil pressure?
Do yo have a proper oil filter on it? One with string like material inside.
Or is the stand tube missing in the center of the oil filter?
How about needing to be primed after sitting a long time?

I know I have a problem with the pump as it keeps loosing prime. Time to fix it as I ran the tractor for an hour with no oil pressure as I did not notice that it lost prime again.
