Help with restoring a B near Spokane, Washington

Hello, I am new to posting on this forum, but need some help and guidance on restoring. I live north of Spokane, and it would be very helpful to have a knowledgeable Allis person look at my 1948 B and parts.
Mainly concentrating on the engine for now, I have the engine on the tractor and a separate engine off that is in pieces-hoping to use what I have, or combine parts for rebuild- buying what I need.
I dont know too much about engine rebuilds and plan to take to rebuild shop, but not sure if the current rebuild shops understand much about the old AC's. Any help would be appreciated.

(quoted from post at 20:17:44 09/15/17) If you can post or email some pictures, I should be able to help.

Thanks bjb, I will take you up on that, and might be a few days or so, but I should be able to post some pics...

Hey guy! there is a member , that frequents this site, called Dick L, and he has untold pictures on his own site, of B type restorations, including engine work. By looking at Dicks pictures, almost any wrench bender, can fix a B,C, or CA. Shout out to Dick L . and use his site like You tube.

Duane! I just remembered a goof up, that I pulled 18 or 19 years ago. When you remove the rod caps, so you can push a piston up out of it's bore, be sure to carefully save the rod cap shims, and count how many is in it's respective stack. Also we have a YT member living in eastern Spokane, a little north of I90, his YT handle is Dell Wa. Might get some help from Dell.

There is a lot of expertise here on the B, C, CA family. I'm sure we can help out with any problems you run into, just post your questions as they come up. I don't think any of us that love ACs will get tired of a new question coming up every day. That is what the forum is for.

If you want to document your experience, go ahead and use the Project Journals (in the left menu at the home page) and create a project to describe what you are doing each day. That helps me stay focused, and tell others how I end up solving a problem during the restoration.

Great tractor to start with. The first one I restored after my main working tractor was a C, very similar. I've also done a couple of Bs and even still have one of them with a nice fabricated 3-point. I think the B is especially good to work on because the parts are light and accessible, no bridge crane required.
