Looks like starter never equipped. No hole for one and the toolbox is the no starter box (not cut for the battery box). Not a bad deal.

I think it"s a fair price. Foot brakes came along in 1941, early Bs had no starter offered. It can be added if you switch torque tubes for one with the starter hole, plus switch the flywheel to get the ring gear.

I would guess the hand brakes run along with the WC made during the same time. They had hand brakes right up to the end in 1947.

I have a 1938 B pretty much like that one, hand brakes,no starter etc.Pretty good little tractor but not a lot you can do with it except pull a trailer, although if you can find a set of cultivators they're pretty good for that. Not a big market for them and the motors aren't much in demand because the blocks are not tapped for the generator mounts the later ones had.
Worse part is getting on and off of it these days not built for old guys(LOL)

Worth that. Front rims are spare tires from newer car, see if the guy will give you the original rims.

Although I prefer the later model B, I'd still buy that one for $500 if it runs as good as it looks. Sheetmetal appears to be nice and straight, good seat, good rear tires, etc. I would however replace front wheels with correct originals. Those car spares just aren't my style.

That looks to be in very good condition. I would replace front rims, get it to Persian #1 with blue decals and it would be beautiful, a very nice original show piece. Maybe some straightening of the hood for fit. Otherwise though, very nice.

The parts are worth more than $500, not that I'd advocate parting something so original.

The stack cap appears to be an original pre-cleaner off a B Power Unit, so that's kind of unique.

Hope we can go get it this week.
Owner said a wedding venue was
thinking about buying it ,
painting it beige ( so as not to
offend anyone) and put it in a
field for pictures. Heck no!!
Lol.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. I have a `1938 hand cranker B. Sometimes she'll start by cranking it but sometimes ya gotta pull start it. She is a temperamental ol' heifer,,Lol..Kenny
