Allis Chalmers 433T Timing

Hello, I am new to this forum and am looking forward to using it. I have a Gleaner combine with an AC 433T diesel engine in it. I took the injector pump off to get it rebuilt and long story short....the drive gear came off the idler gear and we are out of time. We got it to TDC on the 1st cylinder, got the pump lines timed and tried to match the gears up but there is only a mark on the pump's gear and not one on the idler's gear anywhere. So kind of lost as what to do next and wondering if anyone has any ideas. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Need to find out for sure, I recall that pump should be timed at 18 degrees BTDC on # one compression stroke. If that's where the engine is, then install the pump so the marks under the two screw timing cover are aligned. IGNORE the gear marks, proper crank location and pump in time are all you need. See if the owner's book gives the correct timing #, it may be something other than 18. Some idler gears may or may not be marked. If this is clear as mud, call or text me five seven four eight three five 3292..

If you got the pulley on the right number, pretty sure Diesel tech is right at 18, on compression stroke- lines in the window are on - your good, don't worry about any/ no marks on the drive gears

Thank you all for the help. We got it all lined up but it didn't want to start. Come to find out, the lines to the injectors were not primed well and there wasn't enough pressure. We got her going and it runs great! Now back to finish getting the corn and beans off.... Thanks!
