Replacing a water pump on an Allis WD?

Is it possible to replace a water pump on an Allis WD without removing the grill and radiator?

Secondly my water pump has a slight leak around the fan shaft/pulley. Is there a fix for this or should I bite the bullet and get a new water pump?

Your help is is much appreciated.

I've done it before without removing the radiator. The worst part is wrestling the four bolts that hold the fan. Also be gentle with the lower radiator hose or you might damage the radiator lower neck if you get too mean with it. Get a reman pump and do it once instead of twice.

Take out 6 hood bolts and 2 underneath.
You already have to drain the system. Ten
more minutes and you have full access.
Makes life easier.

You may want to replace the belt at the same time. I don't remember for sure, but I think you need to remove a hose to do it, so you might as well do it now!

DR A, KK and J in MI,

Thanks for the replies. What I did was started to take off the fan and decided to just remove the radiator and grill and will put in a new water pump and fan belt.
