A/C Engine Oil Amount????

I was changing the engine oil in my 200 allis (2900 engine model). According to Tractor Data it holds 15 qts of oil. I changed the filters and filled
the new ones with oil. Poured 12 qts total in filters and crankcase and after running it a little while it is perfect on the mark on the stick. Should I
go according to Tractor Data or leave it as is on the mark?
Thanks for the help
Brett

The mark on the dipstick is a good final word if you are on level ground. If there is a discrepancy, it would be good to figure out why, but don't overfill, could have been it wasn't drained completely. Been there, done that. Hopefully, someone with a 200 manual can confirm TractorData's assertion, I don't have one here. I'm assuming the pump is working correctly and the filters did get filled.

My son filled my hydraulic case to the spec just a week ago without checking the dipstick, I had a mess on the barn floor when I came back from bush hogging and it may indicate that now we need to replace a top seal. It wasn't his fault, he was doing what the manual said to do.

Go with the dipstick IF its the right dipstick. Not unusual for manuals and internet listings to be wrong on something like that.Who you gonna believe the manual or
your lying eyes?(LOL)

A real "200" engine has two oil filters on it. It also has the front of the oil pan as deep as the deepest part of the oil pan. MAYBE YOURS HAS A 190xt ENGINE IN IT ??

Sounds like maybe mine is a "200" engine. It has 2 filters and the drain plug is located as you describe.

Deep oil pan and two oil filters means 15 quarts of oil. Dipstick might be marked on both sides. One for a hot idling engine and the other for sitting overnight.
