hey guys. just wondering what can be done to a vac to up the cubic inch and hp. is there a bigger piston that will work and also what about a different crank. or perhaps a different block that will work. thanks.

How much more HP do you want? John Saeli carries the overbore rebuild kit, look at his web site. In practice, the overbore kits have worked well to provide a slightly beefier VAC. Not sure if the bolts align for a 148 or not, but if you want to increase HP by more than a few with the overbore kit, remember 1) the drive train is designed for a certain HP, so increasing the HP too much may lead to lots of other issues. 2) The VAC is a light tractor, so for pulling applications like tillage, you may just end up spinning tires. At some point, the best answer is to find a bigger tractor like a 310 or a 530.

A 300 crank can be made to fit and 300 sleeves will go right in. I have one that way. I put 3 9/16 pistons in another. If you have no legnth restrictions and can use a different block you can adapt a 148, 164 ,188 or 201 engine into it. E mail for more info
