My drawbar on my 511 broke, the back support bracket that is welded on where it slides side to side. The welds broke and the bracket is out in the field somewhere. I was discing. I made a new bracket, but I'm wondering is the drawbar heat treated or something. Can I just preheat, weld and post heat, or cool slowly. I would think they are some sort of heat treated or the pin holes would just pull apart. Thanks, Dan

I have fixed several of them over the years vee it out and weld it back with short passes that do not go the width of the draw bar when welding so you do not create a "tear on the line" weld and you will be fine, the one on my VA broke in the 70's and has never broke again,

Thanks Nutty, I'll give it a try. Can always weld it again if it fails.
