David Brown Three point stopped working

I recently changed the fluid in my David Brown 880 selectamatic. When I refilled the fluid the three point arms no longer raise. They were raising fine before changing, but they went down slow. Now there is nothing.

Not a expert on DB ,,. I am betting your system lost prime ,..or you have airlok , not letting oil move .. my
yanmar 2220 d has played that trik on me...got it working by idling the motor wrench crackin aline and let the air
move thru ,.

(quoted from post at 00:33:26 09/20/17) Thanks, that's what I suspected. The David Brown hydraulics have proven to be a pain.

I don't believe you lost your prime. I believe you loosened up some crap and it got in the control valves. Happens fairly often. If the 880 is like the 990, and I don't know if it is, there is a kidney shaped cover inboard of your 3pt lever. Under that are 2 valves under screw plugs. They need to come out and be cleaned and you need to make sure they move freely. DB hydraulics are no worse than any other brands.

Theres no way to "crack a line" on a DB like that.

just tryin to help,. "Crakin a line " means loosen a
connection to let air move out ,. in my jargon , Bret
..sometimes these questions just sit there and no one
offers up any ideas, advice or suggestions at all ,and
i think that is a pity for the poor guy that is lost
and dont know what to do ,. the I-T book is one thing
..troubleshooting is another , no book can dream up
every fieldproblem one comes up against on this
gawdforsaken equipment ,.. i have a 1210 that has
problems with hydraulics too ,. i think maybe with
your knowledge we can all learn a lot,.because you
know about DB's,. there is a cattleman /tobacco guy
and his son down in somerset ky ..that is real good,
but i cant recall his name, and then there is r g
martin , if he aint in the fielsds harvestin, he mite
see this , and walk him thru ..

No problem, but there isn't an external line to crack. The pump should pick it up and move it through the system. He can try moving the remote levers and see if he's got pressure to the lines. If there is pressure on the remote lines it's almost certain the 3 pt isn't working because of those valves I spoke of.

Do as Brett says. Be careful not to drop the parts into the case. Use a magnet alongside your screwdriver to avoid this.
