Bingo!. I enjoy hitting the Archives from time to time, and found this old girl . You would be wearing Earplugs you think!CM

There are a couple of those screamin-oil dripping LAs around here along with a L. There was a conversion kit that could be bought to make the conversion.
If I was doing one, I would put a 671 in, and stretch the hood, steering arm, and wishbone.

Chuck, Here is a video I shot several years ago of a old Case Detroit out plowing. I don't agree with his clutch abuse but I did like seeing it go.

What was that fool trying to do, pull the plow in road gear? A LA should pull a four bottom plow with the original stock engine. The LA in the video could have done it in a lower gear.

This is like, all talk and no action, what a mess they left the field in, man if I owned this, I would pull the jimmy out and put the "LA" motor back in geez.
Years back I had a semi, a Ford ( we called it a 2 story falcon) and it had a jimmy in it, man, it was a happy day when I replaced it with a 350 Cummins, in a Chevy Titan, (a ok truck in its day)

The jimmy diesel needed to run above 1800 to have any power. 2000 to 2400 was even better. When operating a truck with a jimmy diesel you had to slam you fingers in the door, then drive it like you were mad at it.

That is how you drive a gmc diesel in a truck. Keep them wound up all the time. We had one in a worthing air compressor for running multiple jack hammers and such. We put in ear plugs and muffs over the plugs. At the end of the day your ears still rang.
