I am working on my DC and when I took the flywheel off I noticed there is a gap between the casting for the oil pan and the casting for the block. It looks to be manufactured to allow oil into the clutch housing. My question is there appears to be a trough on the one side and not on the other side. Is the Troff supposed to be there or not? On the side towards the manifold and carburetor it appears as if it might be broken. Does anyone have any pictures they could show me of one that's in good shape? Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself before I get it cleaned up and taken apart but I'm curious as to whether I might need to get a different pan.

The DC is a wet clutch. As far as the split, it isn't the best match up, but I would not be concerned. Other than some crud in the bottom of the trough, what else did you find? CM I am still working the Archives for a good pic for you

Thank you guy's. I knew that it was a wet clutch but I didn't know for sure if that was ok or not. I figured it was but wanted to be sure. Thanks again fella's.

Make sure the hole at the end of the trough is open to the crankcase in the block. I have taken them apart and found lining pins in them blocking the oil flow back to the engine.
