504 into 1270

Have a chance to get an engine out of a 2590 to put in my 1270. Anyone know of any complications I might run in to? Parts book shows different numbers for flywheel and ring gear.Anyone know what the difference is or if the 1270 flywheel will work?If I use the fan and pulleys from the 2590 will they match up to the 1270 radiator?Thanks in advance.

It will bolt up .If you are in doubt about the flywheel use the one from the 1270. You may have to use the balancer from the 1270 or grind out the front tub. Seems like we had to grind an 1170 to put a 2670 engine in it.

The 1270 flywheel will work. I think the starter drives are different so match the starter to the flywheel. I just put a 2290 engine in a 1070 using the 1070 flywheel and starter. Since the 1070 had been turbo'd it was a very simple swap. The 1070 is an open station tractor so there was no air conditioner to contend with and I used the dual belt alternator from the 2290 and there was room for the balancer without any problems.

I have idea it it will fit.

Just remember that even 2590s had drivetrain issues with 2590 motors.
