Case Transmission Oils

The earlier post about TCH replacement oil brought to mind something I've always wondered about. Originally 70, 90 and 94 series Case tractors called for Case TFD trans oil. After the linkup with IH Hytran is the recommended oil. But what are the differences between TFD and Hytran? Are the specs close enough to make the Hytran the best replacement, it was after all an IH oil formulated for their transmissions.

I know from discussing the compatability of Hytran and John Deere's HyGard that it's best not to use JD oil in Case and vice versa.

Jim, Hytran is a excellent replacement for TFD, in fact if memory proves me right Hytran has a high heat tolerance as we use to sell it to highway contractors for their pavers.
If I had a powershift transmission tractor, I would use Hytran
