Looking for seat cushions for my Comfort King seat

Done a little looking around, but still unsure where to get my seat cushions, I have been rebuilding the seat so it should work like it did when new, but cushion is bad, and I need to get a replacement. Any ideas from you guys?

It depends on what you want. John Saeli sells a kit that converts an 806 seat to fit and it works good and looks pretty close. If you want original you will have to have yours recovered. I'm not aware of anyone making those case seats anymore.

Does anyone know what happened to the Speer Cushion outfit that was out of Julesburg CO? They shut down this spring after 59 years and always did awesome work. The work they did for my 830CK was of high quality, and very original in it's appearance. They were looking for someone to pick up their biz, or at least inventory.

The M&W company will rebuild the cushions if the metal is still good. I have had a few sets done.Been happy with them.As Jon mentioned below the 806 setup that John and others sell are a good option if you seat frame and assembly is worn out.

Yes I did look at John's, but I want to keep this tractor as original as possible, going to do a little nosin around and will update you all.

I so agree with you. We bought a lot of seats from them, really dressed up the tractor. But no one wants a steady job with a little work. Rather smoke the "weed"

No worries, I know there is a M&W out there, but didn't know if they did that or not

Spheer shut down, all a family biz and they had had a great run but decided to pull the plug,, Hy Capacity I think still offers cushions I am glad to here K&M will recover old steel

Ande, just want to throw in my two cents. I won't recommend a seat company but just want to say that none of them will reproduce the seats the way Case had them made. The cushions on the originals had no seams or stitching exposed for water to get into or to catch your clothing on when sliding in and out of the seat. The originals were kind of "heat shrinked" in some kind of a hot pressure mold process if I remember correctly. My point is, regardless what you buy today, try not to be disappointed with the results because you won't find anything today with the right "look", which was a nice and smooth shape from all sides. Some guys try to make their own but the armrest section is nearly impossible to recreate that original look. If you find something that looks good, let us know. I have a couple I need to do too.

Guess as our President would say,, "Will see what happens" I think Tom you will agree with me, parts sometimes for these old tractors are the thrill of the hunt

I had one done over 10 years ago by hy capacity they did a recover of the original metal and did a nice job and now after 10 years it's starting to crack a little but has spent a bunch of the time out in the sun. If your metal frame has rough rusted edges from years of water sitting in the cushion they won't cover it, luckily I found a good core to start with and got a nice seat.

I got a seat a year ago for my Minneapolis moline from the they are still there 800-525-8156 they were very nice to deal with I'd call them again when I need something

Hi Dan. About 10 years ago, I had a Case seat reupholstered by a local firm that did a lot of boat reupholstering. They used marine vinyl and did what I considered a great job. And the price seemed reasonable, irc. Unfortunately, like Speer's, they too went out of the business. Rather than blaming it on laziness or drugs, I tend to think that there is likely a limited demand for their services. Many, if not most owners of older vintage tractors are more likely to slap a cheap generic seat from TSC or Farm Fleet on instead of paying 3 times as much to rebuild the original. Others owners who have medical conditions will upgrade to an airide or better suspension for not a lot more money than a quality reupholstering. Even furniture reupholsterers are becoming few and far between as most people just replace the whole sofa or chair when it becomes worn. It is true we live in a throwaway society!

Jay-eye-see, not sure where you are going here? Do you have a bone to pick?

Hi Bradley, yes, its hard to expect many of these small businesses to still be handling a product that probably has little call any longer. But someone might still be out there that might be exactly what one wants. As I mentioned, its the thrill of the hunt!

StrawBoss, YT is a wealth of information, and yes, most companies have discontinued these services for this type of work. This tractor is over 40 years old, we just need to ask questions and see what others have done. Again, I enjoy the hunt for parts.

NO Place for your "P" Crap about that subject I am so Sick of the crying and YES I am PROUD of Mr T. and all he has done for us VERY PROUD

Dan, as was mentioned Speer closed within the last year or so and that really stinks. I had them recover several CK seats and a couple IH Tombstone seats. I know K&M will redo them if your metal is good at least for the back wrap-around, they also have new ones. I haven't had them recover any yet only bought new seats from them and the quality has always been very good. Maybe look around your area for a local upholstery place. As Bradley mentioned the Speer and K&M were not exactly like the originals but still nice. In the picture both tractors and the 1030 all have been recovered by Speer, to give you an idea of how they're a little different than original.

Brad, that is a nice picture of your team, one of these days I will get a "family" picture.

Yes the seat, sure miss Speer, but time to move on, going to check locally here, and yes although maybe not perfect, probably the best we can do with a OEM seat.
Always nice to hear from you Brad

I know for sure you don't want the cheap built wood backed ones especially the wrap around back rest it doesn't fit right and if you lean hard on it it will break.
I hope you have good metal cores to recover like I said in an earlier post hy capacity did a nice job about 10 yrs ago and I hope they still have the same quality.

I totally agree with you, going to get the seat apart this weekend, but thinking the pan is good. Thanks
