HeHe, how about that Tom!!! Now don't be thinking your 20 years old now and wind her up to 20!!

Sorry if I'm veering a bit, but I just bought a '51 VAC that once had a side mount sickle bar, now only the mounts and hydraulics remain. Is that worth saving, or should I just scrap it and not look back?

Sure it is, if you don't want to keep it, sell it, sounds kinda odd your "fishing" aren't you?

There was one like it on an Ottawa ks sale in August. Looked the same only yellow. It was junk and it still brought better than 200 I think.

Sorry, I wasn't clear, I was asking if I should save the remaining parts of the side mount sickle bar when I take them off. My sense is that they are of no use without the other parts, just wanted to check.

Are you a true Case collector? Not really sure what your comments mean, are you saying you are going to scrap Case parts?

Is that a Detroit mower, Tom ? I have several parts books from an old Case dealership covering Detroit mowers on V and VA series tractors.

Bradley, I am trying to find out what it is if you have a book showing this type drive tot he head I would sure appreciate you letting me know the model,, and if you do have the book and one you would consider selling I would be in the market thanks

If they are parts that no one will ever want, yes I will scrap them. That's what I'm trying to determine.

Tom, do you know what year the tractor is? It is hard to tell from the picture but it looks like it may have the Ross steering gearbox setup. If it does it is one of three I know of. Dennis

(quoted from post at 09:36:09 09/20/18) Parts are hard to come by,, can you post a pic of what you have left?
I'll take some later this morning.
I posted pics an hour ago, and my post disappeared, trying again.
