I have found a mf 200 with a non working winch, for 3500. Is this a dozer that I should run from? Can you get parts for it? The good, bad, and ugly about them? I would appricate anyones input. This a great place for the uninformed. Thanks

That thing is a 3500 dollar boat anchor.. Hanamog mad most of them in who know where Checkovsa or somewhere. Nothing about a 40 year old dozer that is good but You can find something to spend your money and time on better than a Massey. You are not going to get too much for $3500 but surly something better than the old Massey. Where are you located.?

Hey jm. Thanks for your input. Im in east Tn. I know the mf tractors are bullit proof. Never been around a dozer. In our area, John Deer rules. I guess the reason they hold ther value is they are worth it. The big thing they have going, here anyway are parts are everywhere. Just wondering about the MF machine. Thanks and have a great day.

Run away do not look back feel happy put a little more with that money buy a Deere or Case. One of my Track Press i bought from a MF dealer in Johnson City TN he said he sold a lot of crawlers in that area so i bet there are a lot in East Tenn but still run away good machines but no parts back up to speak of,that dealer sold his place to Wal Mart one less dealer

No problem, I am about 300 miles west of you down in west Tennessee. Have bought and sold dozers most of my life and know the guy the other poster was talking about. You can find better I have a D 2 cat late 50s with good bottom for two thousand.

Hey Rogi, if jm wants to sell his D2 for Two Grand, as close as the two of you are it is worth your while to go and check it out (and take your money with you). If it were me, I'd jump on it in a heartbeat. D2's if they're in half-way decent shape are nice little dozers. When I bought mine I had to have it shipped over 1800 miles to me, shipping cost almost as much as the dozer. Bought mine sight unseen but knew I could trust the seller (he sent lots of pics). You are just 300 miles away so shipping would be cheap compared to mine.

Doc :>)

the MF-200 was one good crawler in its day way better then any Deere and as good or better then Case of that time.Hanamog had nothing to do with the MF-200 or 300 they were MF made. the 200 was made in the US and the 300 in Italy by how i don't recall. parts are no more and if you need any parts it will have to come from a parts machine. would i recommend you buy it NO because it sound like you have no experience with them but would i buy it in a hart beat if i need one. get your self a case 450 and you will be happy But fined someone that know about crawlers and what to look at because they are VERY expensive to fix

As with any crawler..... Have someone who intimately knows crawlers look at it.. If it costs you a couple of hundred bucks for this service, Money well spent.. Novices can get into a crapload of trouble [ costly trouble ] when trying to buy a first well worn machine..
