JD 1010 gas crawler / loader

made a mistake in first post, it's a 1010
I've tore down the left final, replaced the 8 fictions, resurfaced the pressure plate, put pressure plate on, torqued bolts, it seems like the pressure plate fingers are awful close to the main body, they only have 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch of travel. Just don't look right. Is that the way they are suppose to be???? There is no spec.s on how close they are suppose to be in repair manual..

I did not even see mention of gage in the Service Manual . I guess I'm going to need to read it again. I'm not ready to put things back together yet. I'm going to pull the other side off first, probably have to do everything there also. I need to find brake lining for both sides.
I called Automotive Friction in Damascus, OR, they think they can provide me with the material to reline my bands, I'll hope anyway.

My Service Manual says refer to section 20 of group 150. and my manual does not have section 20 of 150, so looks like I will be going to JD dealer tomorrow morn. Unless someone on here has the info I need in their manual.

Arlin, I'll probably take the band out to them this coming Thurs. That is all I need to finish the left side. Had a little mishap today, remove the 20 ton jack and set left side down on a jack stand.went to town and came home, jack stand split and crawler was sitting on under carriage. So had to jack it back up and put in a good home made jack stand...Heck with those 6 ton factory ones from Harbor freight!!!!
 
looked on jdcrawlers.com, will be giving Lavoy a call tomorrow and ordering the gauge for steering PP. I noticed they also have brake bands, will check out their prices also on bands.

What serial # 1010? Early takes 8 fibers and 8 steel plates. Later (after # 31,000) takes 8 fibers, only 7 steels, and a different pressure-plate.
