D4 7u transmission noises

its pretty loud runs great but could it be the the bearings in the tranny steering clutches its was sitting for 15 years got it running doesn't skip a beat but the transmission is loud its not in the finals any good advice would be great.
 
I don't remember if that is a wet clutch but I do know you have to lubricate it. I don't have the manual here or I would give the details. Get a manual, lots of good stuff to know. Also did you drain and refill the transmission? Is it cold enough for ice in the tranny there?
 
What type of noise? Whine, growling, clunk? A lot of them have been worn out, patched up and worn out some more.

Steering clutch and brakes will be dry. Only the very late ones will have a wet main clutch.
 
You might try cracking the drain plug and see if you get any water, since you say it sat a long time. Sounds like bearings.
