JD loader info/help

I am looking to buy an older crawler loader to do some clean-up work around my place. Does anyone know when ROPS were added to JD loaders? I was thinking about the early 70's but the 450 B I'm going to look at doesn't have it and I think the 450B started manufacture about then. everything I've heard and read says anything prior to the 450 was pretty weak.

An optional "canopy and seat-belt" was available on the 450 crawler in 1965. It was not offered as on option on the crawler-
loader until the 450B came out. Note at least at first, Deere called it a "canopy" and not a "R.O.P.S." So maybe it was
intended more for objects falling from above, then for roll-over protection. The USA did not even have any official ROPS
standards until 1967 and requirements did not kick into until around 1976.

I find a ROPS of any sort to often be a major pain due the overhead clearance issues. But it is nice to have something to
keep tree limbs and rain off my head. I suspect his one on my 1960 1010 Deere loader would not handle a roll-over very well.
Probably not the one on my even older Oliver HG dozer either.

Are you referring to weak in horsepower or durability or both?
