THOMAS 105 SKIDSTEER RUN ISSUE!

I have a 2001 Thomas 105 Skid steer with 300 plus hours. For the last couple of years I have had an issue with starting and keeping it running. If I pre-heat and start the unit, as soon as the key returns to the run position it stalls. If i'm lucky, after 15 to 30 times, I might get lucky and It will run/operate as it should. What do yo think, 4 way key switch, solenoid, other?

When you turn the key to on, do you hear the fuel solenoid click? Some fuel solenoids become voltage sensitive as the get older. If it doesn't have a strong 10+ volts when cranking,it won't hold the solenoid in the run position. You may have a weak battery, time you pre heat it,then crank it over it may not have enough reserve to hold the solenoid in. Maybe try jumping it and see if it starts. Post back with what engine is in it

The skid steer has a Kubota V1305B Diesel 4 cyl. engine, 81.5 Cu In. 33 HP. It had the battery replaced last year. What a PIA that was. I do not hear any fuel flow noise and it appears to be gravity feed on the fuel flow. Starts right up, till I let go of the key.
