Bendix TU-FLO 300 Air Compressor for Cat 944

(quoted from post at 13:00:17 07/02/23) Looking for a used compressor, Our just stopped working ...any suggestions

The ''air brake governor'' or the piston in the compressor cylinder head that operates the mechanism that holds the intake valve(s) open when the system is up to pressure MAY simply be stuck.

Does the compressor have it's own air filter or does it get filter air after the engine air filter?

In either case, if you can hear ''chuffing'' at the compressor intake port that may well be what's going on.

Can you post a photo of the compressor?

It is a CAT 922(I miss spoke)
1. The compressor does not have it's own air filter. It gets air from the engine air filter.
2. I can not hear any noise at the compressor intake port.
3. I sprayed some penetrating's oil in both the intake port and the pipe going to the air tank while the engine was running. So far, it has made no difference.
4. It is producing air to the export port but not much (it
doesn't register on the air gage.
Could it be the govenor? I will try to figure out how to send a picture.

They can rebuild yours, I just had them rebuild one for a Dresser loader.

Loosen the 2 bolts that hold the governor on and see if the compressor will make air
If it does replace the governor
90% of the time the governor is the issue

The governor is remote mounted, loosening the bolts won't do anything. Just disconnect the tube that runs to the compressor from the governor.
