Gentlemen,
Have a 480C with the hydraulic box blade. All functions work on the blade (rippers, tilt, & top link) except the lift. it would only raise about 2 inches and no more. I switched the hydraulic hoses from the lift cylinder to the top link cylinder control valve. The top link works as it should, but the lift cylinder would only lift again about 2 inches. So I assumed the lift cylinder needs to be rebuilt. $425.00 later, installed the cylinder, worked perfectly without the blade (no load). Attached the blade would not pick up more than 2 inches. The loader works like it should. Picks up the front end with no problems. So I don't believe it's the hydraulic pump. What could be the cause of the lift cylinder under load (blade attached) not being able to raise? What am I missing? Thanks in advance.
