How to drain all the fluid out of trans an torque converter. What s the best fluid to put back in it.

Running the machine today it usually steers really good with no issues. It has the handles for the clutch an the petals for the clutch today I have lost all steering goes straight fine but doesn t turn either way if I apply both brakes machine will stop but if I apply left or right brake an pull left or right lever it doesn t turn.it s a wet clutch set up.

I never have drained the converter on any of mine, unless taking the converter out. For most operation above freezing I prefer to use 30W engine oil in the transmission. If the machine stops moving with both pedals depressed the pressure bleed off from the transmission to the clutch release cylinders is definitely OK. If you can spin the tracks in first gear if you push straight into a pile, you have sufficient torque in the transmission for steering in either direction by enough pressure on either pedal. You will know if the brake bands needs adjusting if you have more than 3.5 inches of pedal travel. Depending on how many hours are on the machine it could be time for new bands. Steering can also be sluggish if you use a higher gear and not enough throttle.
