Kobelco excavator

I saw a Kobelco SK 150 LC Mark 4 excavator for sale today in my travels.
I did not have time to get out of the car, so I'm not sure of hours, year, ETC.
I called the owner, and I am waiting for him to return my call.
It looks like it has done lots of work, but not trashed.
What kind of reputation do these machines have?
Are parts easy to get? Looking for any information I can get!
Thanks
Brian

Being in the equipment repair business I can't say I've really heard alot either way on the Kobelco machines. I know I see some of them out there but not nearly as many of them as there are of the CAT's, Komatsu's and JD's. If I remember correctly the Kobelco's also run some 'odd ball' hydraulic fittings (GAZ, BSPP, etc, etc) so if you blow a line be prepared to go to the dealership to get one made as alot of shops probably won't carry the fittings for it. That said, how much of a problem that presents for you, in your area, is something only you can figure out. Beyond that, like I said, I haven't heard alot about them either good or bad... and that can be a good thing or a bad thing so saying that really doesn't help out much either....

I've had my little Kobelco SK 60 for 7 years on the farm. Good, low-maintainence dependable machine. Prefer to run it the over Cat E70B. Plenty Kobelcos around but like NC says, not as popular as Cat & Kamatsu.
