Whats the screw for on a H Carb?

It goes an inch above, and an inch to the outside of the port for the fuel line. When I choke it to kill it, it spews gas out of it. I found the screw in my old carb top and put it in this new one, but don't know what to set it at.

That screw is plugging a hole that was needed for access during the manufacturing process. It needs to be TIGHT. It is NOT an adjustment.

Be advised, the screw from one carburetor may not necessarily interchange with a different carburetor. There ARE different lengths.
