Mahindra E350

I know Mahindra tractors are pretty much copies of some of the old Internationals but does anyone have any info good or bad on the E350-D1?

I think the E350 is indeed made in India under the old English International Harvester license. They're pretty crude. Many of the smaller models they sell here in the US are South Korean made by a company called Tong Yang Mooslan, sometimes called TYM. TYM also make tractor for Cabella's to sell - if that's still going on.

Yes Mahindras are made in India and they are pretty good tractors from what I have heard. Just wondering about this model as there is one for sale not too far from me. As for the Korean tractors they are made under many names such as Montana, TYM and many others, all the same tractor. Don't have any desire to have one.

For years and years India built Mahindras had collar shift transmissions - no synchronizers at all. After I retired from the tractor business they may have changed that. Their collar shifts were a bugger to shift. Be sure to drive it. When I traveled India farms, I saw a lot of Mahidras split, hanging from a couple of ropes under a tree because of clutch problems. India farmers are hard on clutches. Be sure to drive it and check out clutch and shifting. Then too, though mot always right, memory tells me that the Mahindra built models have the 75 year-old technology of transmission driven PTO. If it were big enough to do what I wanted, I think I'd rather have a TYM than an India made Mahindra. At least they have modern features, though as I recall, the early ones didn't have a mid-PTO so putting a belly mower under them was difficult.

From pictures it looks like a B-414 International with a newer style grille.

I don't think Mahindra is making the old IH tractors anymore. They're all new designs these days.

I used to be a fan of Mahindra until they started hyping about bringing their pickup trucks to the USA a few years back. Supposed to be a compact diesel pickup that got 30MPG. Well, the arrogance of their management came out in those dealings and I personally would not own any of their products or do business with them at this time.
