3 point top link mount possibility

I have a M that has a unusual 3 point that my dad made 30 some years ago. He never used it as a 3 point just the drawbar that he put on it at the end of the arms. We'll now that I have it I want to use it as a 3 point with my back blade and mower. I bought a quick hitch to adapt to it because with the way it was it required about an hour of taking it half apart to get any attachments on it. In order to get the quick hitch on I need a spot to mount some ears for the tractor side of the top link. Was looking at the back of the tractor and there are 3 bolts on the back of the transmission plate that look like I might be able to put some longer bolts in and put a wide piece of angle iron on the back and weld the top link ears to that. Unfortunately in looking at some other commercial made 3 point the top link I'd mounted to the 3 point frame but this has the frame mounted to the axles not the drawbar. So long story short would that be a strong enough location or do I risk cracking the transmission or something like that. It would probably help to get some pictures but ai don't have a good way to do that at the moment.

Putting carefully designed spacers between the bottom of those rear cover bolts so that the forces on the bolts was still shear,
but not with a gap, would work. use grade 8 bolts to replace the original. Use the Angle iron (3.5X3.5X 3/8 thick) so that the
angle is facing down. Jim
