Super C oil / condensation removal

Tractor has been sitting for two years outside under a tarp. Got it running without a lot of trouble. The engine oil is contaminated with water...I'd like to drain it,refill with cheap oil and remove the oil filter..Can I run the engine without the oil filter? Just install the canister without the filter...I'd do this maybe a couple times, Then install a new oil filter and good oil on the last drain.

Any more than once is a waste of oil, IMHO.

Getting the tractor up to operating temperature will do more to get rid of the water than anything else you do.

It's a bypass filtration system, so in theory running without the oil filter should not be a problem, but for the cost of a quart of oil vs. the cost of an engine rebuild, I wouldn't want to be the one to find out.

We were lax on oil changes on our SC. Oil pressure was
down to the red when running. Pulled the pan, & gunk/
sludge had built up to the point that the oil pickup
was laying in the sludge. Pump couldn't pull oil.

Cleaned the pan, & oil pressure is back to normal now.

Pan gaskets don't cost that much.

Not familiar with C/SuperC, they use the same filter as a late H, SH, 300, 350 Right? Bought a new filter for my SH last spring, $11, Tall filter for early H/M was $18.25! From my local C/IH dealer. Bought a couple things there that the prices surprised me in a good way, those filters, especially the one for the M, not so much.

Yep, I wish I knew where you could get a filter for $5.00 ! I just paid $11.00 for one, even the auto parts store sells WIX and they're more than $11.00. I'm going to run it without the filter the first time.
