Regular Carb Kit

I have finally decided to rebuild the carb on my 1927 Regular, old brass 3 bolt Ensign carb. Does anybody sell a complete kit ? It looks like I have a groove in my needle and seat and the cork float is misshapen but still floats , looks like it was already dipped or painted with sealer so I will be getting a brass one. And need gaskets of course. Looks like Rice, Stiener or Fordson House don't have complete kits ? Any tips on float setting?

Take it apart and look real close at the center stem. Center stem most be clean top to bottom, small hole cleaned.
Install new needle and set. Only gasket is on the fuel bowl on carb. Install new brass float. that is about all you can do to a Ensign carb.
Soak and clean the brass while you have it apart. Most problem is keep the float low as not to over flow the center tube. The running is all about the center stem, if it is clean it will run great.

I found a nice kit from Branson Enterprises. One problem on mine is the center stem where it threads into the top "hat" piece, the threads are bad. It is not stripped out but the female end is kinda swelled outward making the fit loose and threads are slipping over. So I need a new "hat". I am thinking of trying to heat it up some and squeeze it back down with a hose clamp maybe? The length of threads that actually go in there are very short. I assume years of over tightening have done that.

If you have wore or stripped parts that are hard to come by , you may wqant to look into a Loc tite product that will repair them . Now the kit is not cheap but it does work when you follow the directions. I had a carb come here for rebuild that was really messed up and you could not tighten the seat down due to a badly rusted body . So i gave it a try and after i was done usen the stuff and letting it cure up i screwed in the seat and CRANKED IT DOWN TIGHT and it held , gas will not affect the epoxy . I did have a little trouble finding it as no one around here had it and i had to get it from some supply house in Cal.
