Hydraulic pump on SH leaking oil

The hydraulic pump is leaking oil on my stage II SH. It is leaking oil into the distributor cap. My CIH service manager said the hydraulic pump is junk and just replace it with a $700. pump. Is there any way I can repair the pump and where can I find the parts needed? Funny thing, this pump runs a power steering unit and it works OK.

There is an oil seal that is probably bad. If you go to the caseih website under a parts search you can find an illistration of the pump that will show you the seal. While you got it apart you might as well go the whole nine yards and replace all the seals and o-rings.

The problem with these pumps is that they're not rebuildable. What happens is the shaft wears and a new seal won't seal on the worn spot. It'll leak just as bad if not worse than it does now.
