IH Electrall

Does anyone know if US Syncrogear had any affiliation with the GE made Electrall used by IH? Ebay # 120390166256

That US Synchrogear model is not similar to the Electrall. There appears to be an integral step-up planetary gearset on that generator. IH used multi-shaft gear boxes to get the Electrall up to 3600 RPM. I used the plural form of "box" because the side mount gear box is different from the PTO style gear box.

It is interesting to see that eBay item. I am currently mounting a second side mounted Electrall on my 400. I have recently purchased a planetary gear box and will be adapting it to the tractor pictured below.

I should also add that the only major component of the Electrall not mfgd by IH or GE is the small exciter generator. It was made by Autolite. Some have said Delco-Remy but that is not true. You gotta wonder why IH didn't insist on Delco.
