super c fast hitch

Looking at a Farmall Super C thats for sale in the neighorhood. It has a fast hitch on it,would that have come from the factory installed.Have not heard it run yet.How much would the fast hitch add to price. Thanks for any info,Bill

A lot depends on when it was manufactured. I have a Super C that came with fast hitch and the serial number is 185040 which makes it a late 1953. I believe the Super C did get fast hitch in late 1953 and in 1954. I have seen a 1951 Super C with fast hitch but that was a retrofit.

Dad bought a new "carry over" Super C in early (probably about March) 1956... had his choice between a Super C or 200... SC was discounted a little. Had an uncle that lived about 5 miles from us with a WFE Super C that he bought new in '53... both had Fast-Hitch.
Dad got several F-H implements with it... 2x14" plow (the kind with a big coil spring on top), a 7' tandem disc, 7' sickle bar mower, cultivator (back was F-H), and what they called a carry-all (handy for fencing, feeding livestock or whatever).

The fast hitch should not increase the value. it is hard at best and all most imposable to get equipment for the two point fast hitch depending where you live.
Other than the C-20 Two point plow I have looked every where I go for some and they jest aren"t there

From what I have read, you can buy a 3 point adapter to slide into the fast hitch. You are then set up to run 3 point implements. I would love to have a fast hitch on my Super C. They are hard to find though and are usually high dollar. I found a 3pt that works off the lift-all. It seems to work well.

I have a FH on my SC. SC's with a FH in my area are much more expensive. While is it true you will have a hard time finding equipment, there are three options. Option 1 is a set of arms and a spot for a top link. While I made mine I don't think I would put much weight on it. I use it for lifting under 400 pounds.

The second option is the 2 point to 3 point converter. I got this last summer. The only problem with these is not all 3 point stuff will fit. I had to make mine wider for my blade. My carryall won't fit at all so I use the arms.

Option #3 is to get 3 point equipment and weld arms on them.

While the true 3 point is probably a little easier to get implements for I like my SC / FH a lot. While they are not rare they are not found on every corner. In a county full of old tractors it still stands out.
Another cool thing about a FH. It has down pressure. I don't think many 3 points can say that. Ron

Maybe it should and maybe it shouldn`t, but the fact is a fast hitch DOES increase the value of a Super C by probably $300 to $500 from what I can tell.As Idaho Ron points out, there are ways of using the fast hitch for a conversion to a 3pt. hitch.May not be the ideal setup, but in my estimation, much better than some of the 3 pt. add on kits which use the touch control arms as the lifting mechanism. The touch control arms won`t lift near as much as the FH cylinder will, either.

I fully restored a 1952 Super C. It was was purchased new with a narrow front end and no Fast Hitch. I added a 3-point with hydraulic cylinder by Saginaw Hitch. Later, I sold the 3-point and installed a Fast Hitch and wide front end. I have most all FH attachments. I can say that the FH is the way to go. Also, I have several options to easily use 3-point attachments as well as FH attachments.

I have a fully restored Super C with most all options and FH attachments. I was able to find FH attachments, but had to search around the country. I have a traveling tractor shipment guy that will pick up stuff for a reasonable fee, if you are not in a rush. There is a lot of Super C FH stuff in Kentucky (tabacco country).
