239d injection pump

I have a 544 international with the 239d and i can"t keep it running........when u start it, it runs fine for about 20 to 30min,then the engine will speed up and slow down it"ll do this a few times then stop....just like u turned the key off,i replaced the filters and bled them and at the injectors and the fuel just trickles out when i loosen them(shouldn"t be under alot of pressure when the engine is turned over?)I"m thinking injector pump bad and if this sounds like a bad pump where can i get a replacement or have this one rebuilt?And it"s never had much power.I thought it was water in the fuel,so i tested it and it shows none.

Hi Sam, don't have expierence with D239 in 544 but have lots of expierence with D239 in 684. My first check would be fuel flow into and out of the fuel filters. Get a clean bucket and disconnect the fuel line into the fuel filters and let the fuel flow into the bucket. The fuel must flow out at the full of the inlet pipe if it doesn't then there is a problem coming from the fuel tank.
My brother had a similar problem with his 684 and problem was a lady bug carcus in the fuel tank that was restring the fuel flow out of the tank.
