C-123 Valve levers

The contact points on my valve levers are cupped. The end that actually pushes on the valves. Are they supposed to be this way? Or are they wore to where I need new ones? The way it is now it seems like it will be hard to set the clearance as I had my head resurfaced. The machine shop ground my old valves so they are the same ones that were in the motor. I've never OHed one of these little engines before, so I don't know what they are supposed to look like.

It sunds like the tips of the rocker arms are badly worn.

It's POSSIBLE some shops can reface them, otherwise, it may be best to replace them.

Bob is right.
Yhey are supposed to be rocker shaped (convex) to a radius that allows a nice wiping push to the stem. If this area is pitted (concave) from wear a good valve shop will have a rocker arm resurfacer attachment for the valve grinder. It should be reasonable compared to new. JimN
