IHC 766 Auxillary Valves Problem

The auxillary valves on my 766 are not getting enough flow/pressure. At half throttle, they will not raise the tailgate on the roll baler, only at full throttle and then slowly. Same with the disk. I have replaced the relief valve under the right hand seat support as well as the rear hydraulic pump, orings, and seals. Any suggestions? Am considering taking the relief valve from my 584 (I know it has a lower pressure rating) and try it just in case the new relief valve was faulty.

Well if ya installed a new pump and a new releif with out putting the flow rater on it or atleast a gauge i have know idea unless your connectors are bad as i have seen this time and time again . So if replacing the pioneer ends don't fix it the find someone in your neck of the woods that can put the test to it as you can waiste a week fooling around and onece ya put the flow rater on it ya can track it down in less then a hour.

You don't have your three point hitch control lever pushed all the way ahead in the dump position do you?

Do you have a HEAVY load that you could hook the 3-point to? A HEAVY tractor that you could back up to and try to lift the front end off the ground?

That will tell you wheather it's a pump pressure problem or a remote problem. Did you use a thick enough o-ring? New pump or used?

Are you getting those hydraulic lines inserted correctly?

I installed a new relief valve and new pump(not rebuilt) with all new orings and gaskets from the dealer. They all looked similar to the old ones removed, just not flattened. I realize a shop with proper diagnostic tools could isolate this quickly but they are all 60 miles away and backed up with work (I called) and I need this tractor now. I have not tried a heavy load on the 3 pt recently but will check this ( I don't think there is a problem with the lift, at least there wasn't when I plowed). I hope I don't have the control lever all the way forward, that would be really stupid of me, but I will check. As for the line connections, I have to use the pioneer to large IH adapters. At one time, I thought this was the problem, but I have tried several different ones with no change.
When I tried to disk this spring I noticed if I fully engaged the control lever for the valve, the hydraulics would lock up and not move, but if I only engaged it very little the disk would slowly raise.
I have tried to remove the cap for the unloading valve under the seat and clean it, but have been unable to get it loose. Removed the seat and used a 3/4" open wrench with a pipe on it, but wouldn't budge. Any sugestions, would rather stay away from heat, lots of orings in there.

those adapters could still be your problem. maybe you should get the IH ends on your hoses, at least one pair to test. If it works, then drop the 130$ on the valve conversion kit for the tractor, or switch the other hoses to ih ends.
you have the levers in the right position on your valve assy right?

I got a couple of new IH adapters and the hydraulic problem seems to have been solved. I had some from TSC that hadn't been used much and some older ones, but all of these were causing a problem and I found it hard to believe that they could all be bad but I guess they were. All of my other tractors accept the pioneer ends, so I don't want to change to the large IH. What about the conversion kits? Do they work well and are they difficult to change? Looks like I've spent $500+ to solve a $40 adapter problem. Oh well, I bought it new in 76 and have 8000 hours on it. Preventative maintenance i guess.
