Can I install a hydrulic unit on my 1945 farmall model A?

Are you looking to do a factory set up like the Super A? If so you would need all the parts from a Super A to do it, including the engine block.

Or you can run a belt off the crankshaft... (this is actually on an H)

or you could run a shaft drive out the front. (again on an H)

Pete: You need more than Steven suggested for a factory touch control system. You need the block plus you'll need a Super A torque tube. If your going to do that, you may as well buy a Super A.

By far the most useful and practical solution is a junkyard power steering pump belt-driven off the engine crankshaft as described by Steven. However, it needs to be done right to work right. Most installs I've seen are belt-squealing hack-jobs dangling out in midair.
