C-21 mower timing, Best tractor show

Did anyone get to the Best Show On Tracks Woodland CA? I was going to go but could not handle the 106 deg heat with the pills the doc's got me on, how did it go and will it be back next year? Also I kept getting wimp wood, 3 of the pitman sticks I got would just fall apart or the bolts loosen up after 3-4 hrs of mowing even checking before and after each day. So I got a Ford stick that was much heavier but a 1/2" shorter. Now I have 0 problems except it just wont cut well on fine grass. Is there a quick simple way of checking or setting timing? I know I need to get the proper length stick but don"t see where to adjust or set timing? Someone please help, it"s so dry I can"t use any rotor type mower! And since most of the state is on fire I can"t hardly see today with all the smoke and don"t want to make any more!

The timing is adjusted by rotating the cast frame where the bar attaches. The frame is threaded onto that big pipe. Look at it, and you can see threads showing. You will have to unhook the break a way bar, and lifting mechanisms in order to do it. I would suggest that it was out of time to start with if it kept on breaking pitman rods. I have mowed thousands of acres with a C-21, and 24 with standard pitmans, and no problems. Mowed lots of Bluegrass, and it don't get much finer or tougher to cut. To cure the bolt loosening problem doubl nut or brad the threads of the bolts. If you want you can email me, and I will send pics of the things I am talking about.
