Dumb questions ?

A couple of times recently I noticed guys being a bit apologetic for asking 'dumb questions'. I reckon the VERY WORST thing you can do with a so called dumb question is not ask it. And theres always someone else out here who thinks "I often wondered about that" MTF

Human nature instills in us that what we want to know, everyone is well verse on the topic. Usally there are several others that would like to know the answer but are reluctant to ask.

Better to ask a dumb question than to have an injury due to these antique machines without all the modern safety devices. We older guys learned, many of us the hard way, about such things as checking the gear shift position before cranking a magneto-type tractor, etc, etc. I bet there are some hair-raising tales that could be told by those of us that are still alive!

The only dumb question that bothers me is "I just bought a ___, where do I get parts?"

Half the time it's for a tractor that the manufacturer still supports.
