When i push in clutch on farmall B, and put it in any gear it grinds. The tractor is not moving at all the the pto is not engaged.
I can hold the clutch in for a long time and it will still do this.
I checke dthe clutch adjustment, while tractor is moving, oush clutch in about 1/2to 1 inch it will disengage.
What do you guys think, pressure plate?

Try to adjust it where there is 1/2" to 1" of free travel before feeling any pressure. I hope thats all you need. David.....

Not uncommon for a 60yr old B. Pilot bearing in the crankshaft is dry and gummed up. There is no way to lube it without splitting tractor. Try draining transmission after flushing then refill with 150wt lube as that can help. When i have one split and replacing pilotbearing i use oil and Never Seize for lube they then work just fine for another 20 or so yrs i hope.

Try pushing the shift lever forward of the R position for a few seconds with the clutch in before shifting into gear. That helps. The real answer is the the pilot bearing like Gene said. Dave

My dads super C had this problem for years. he never did find the problem to his death. but i did manage to find the problem.

The tractor has a coupling joint on the rear of the clutch shaft. if this joint is worn, lost a bolt, or anything is wrong with it, is will cause the shaft to wobble in operation, putting a slight strain on the clutch disc. The tractor will be hesitant to take gear.
