Steel hyd lines.

Im looking for a good set of steel hyd lines from under seat to valves on a 460 ih. Are they being made by anyone. Salvage yards dont seem to have them. Is there a differance between 460 and 560?
 
Could you use hydraulic hoses? They will take the vibration and you can get single braided or double braided for the higher pressure. Hal

I just had to deal with a similar problem on my 340U. I purchased steel 5/8 inch tubing, 0.065 wall, and spliced in new sections. Ends are flared.

Other folk take note: Notice the two bends in the pipe. That is not only so it will get from point A to point B correctly, but it is also so that the pipes can have a little give in them for expansion and contraction.

I'm a bit leery of doing the flares myself. I suppose if I got the tubing bent the way I wanted, a hydraulic shop could put the ends on it for me. I'm looking to interface a loader that was designed for a PTO pump to a full-time distributer mounted pump on my M (when I get that pump).

I am a bit leery about hoses, because they are a maintenance item. Yes, they will take vibration well, but they deteriorate from the inside out. So, you can never judge how good they are.
 
Thank you for the compliments. I found a ratcheting Rigid flare tool ( 1/2 to 1 inch ) on eBay for about $50, and it did a great job making the flares with very little effort. Soft steel tubing is pretty easy to work. I'm planning to run a couple more lines to the rear to make remote couplings for a log splitter, so the tool was justified.

Have to admit I didn't hit the second piece on the first try . . .
