Farmall M Carb Part

I was wondering if someone can help me to get the nut that goes up through the bottom of a Farmall M carburetor that holds the main jet in place. It has a very odd thread in it (1/4-32) and is hard to duplicate. I cannot find that piece anywhere. E-mail me at [email protected]

Thanks,
Steve

If you go to a local car stereo shop, they have hundreds of brass shaft nuts from removed radios over the years. I'm sure they will have one you can make work.

This is a real oddball. It looks like a screw with the threads inside.
I'll have to post a picture of it.

(quoted from post at 03:46:51 08/05/08) Have you checked at your local Case-IH dealer?

I don't know of any in my area, I'll have to check. Didn't think they would carry something like that.

Your Case-IH dealer can be full of surprises. I'll go to the official website and check on the availability.

I've rebuilt a bunch of those carbs, but I don't have any spare clamp nuts on hand right now.

Steve, the part you want is #47402D. Your dealer may not have it in stock, but the Case-IH website shows that part as being available.

I called today and it is a 'retired' part, so still looking...
