IH 2ME or 2MH corn picker weight

This weekend, I am going to look at a mounted corn picker that has been sitting in a guys pasture for quite a few years. He used it on his m but cant remember what model it is. Is there a special way to tell the two apart or do I just have to look at decals and serial numbers. How much do they weight? I was thinking of offering him scrap price for it and if it is in good enough shape you may see it restored and placed on an M for the 2011 Red Power Roundup in Albert Lea, MN

Thanks for all the help.

A 2ME has a single center chain in the wagon elevator and a 2MH has a double one. The elevator on a 2MH is also painted white and a 2ME is red. Don't know how much they weigh but they are pretty heavy. If it has been sitting outside for some time everything is going to be rusted up. You can still find good shedded machines for scrap price. Sure would be easier to restore. Here's a picture of my 2MH on my Super M.

With due respect the 2M picker had the single wagon elevator chain and the 2ME, 2MH, and 2MHD all had double elevator chain. From the factory the 2ME had a small "steerable" center snout And the 2M, 2MH, and 2MHD had a larger center snout.
The wagon hitch on the 2ME was attatched to the gearbox support and the U-drawbar was removed to mount the picker. With the 2MH and 2MHD the U-drawbar remained attatched to the tractor and the wagon hitch bolted to the tractor hitch hitch and had a support from the gearbox support.

this hitch was made of 2 pieces of pipe and could telescope. Armand
