I have a chance to purchase a IH Hydro 100 c/w allied loader and cab.Its showing 8000 hrs on the speedo. The brakes ,clutch, and hydraulics all work fine and shifting seems smooth. The engine is a bit noisey at an idle but quiets right down when revs are increased.Tin is a bit rough and new paint would be in order.Price is $6500 canadian. I am not familiar with IH tractors. Is this model ok or are there any glaring problems that a guy should be aware of?Any input would be appreciated.

I've bought two 8K houred tractors. One cost me an arm and a leg to get right; the other is one of the best tractors I've ever owned.

It all depends on the last guy that owned it.

At 8K hours, it "should have" been completely gone thru by now. If not, you are probably looking at an easy $20K worth of future repair bills. :>(

Pull the oil dipstick after it's sit overnight. Make sure there is no indication of anti-freeze in the pan. Also, that front end is undoubtably gonna need rebuilding since it's been under the loader.

Otherwise, you've found one heck of a nice loader tractor.
