Radiator Fan assembly for a Farmall 'C'

Hello Folks; I have a question about mounting the radiator fan assembly and adjusting the belt tension. The Farmall 'C' I have seems to be missing something where the fan assembly is bolted onto the support. All I have is a slot for the threaded shaft to pass through and a nut to tighten with,. This just does not look like a good way to hold the fan assembly in place. Could someone let me know what is on their tractor. Thanks in advance!

thats pretty much it. i think my b has a flat washer between the nut and the slot. but other than that, nothing else.

Parts manual shows two fans for a C. Service Products and Schwitzer-Cummins. Service Products takes a fan shaft washer. Schwitzer-Cummins does not. Guess that is the way they did it back then.

No washer between the nut and slot. The nut rests into the slot to keep it from turning. You tighten it by turning the shaft.

The thick washer goes in the front of the bracket to align the belt with the crank pulley. I-H used this design on around 500,000 tractors so the design wasnt too bad as here we are 60 pluss yrs later and they are still in use if someone just put a little oil in them.

Hey Guys; Thanks for the information. Now I know I have what I need and know how to do it. Thanks.
