Wide load!

The tin & wide front are nearly pristine condition, engine is stuck & many parts have been removed.
It is set up for straddling 4--22" sugar beet rows.

I don"t care if the engine is stuck, NO parts should ever have been removed from such a pristine tractor. What parts does it need?

Well, it is missing the distributor, seat assembly, carburetor, pto shield, the engine block is shot etc...I bought it so I can use the transmission parts to restore my grandfather's tractor. Dad (Wayne) hauled it to our workshop and took the pictures. I plan on using the sheet metal as well, since it is better than the pretty good pieces I do have.

I did toy with the idea of throwing an extra engine I have into it, but that wouldn't solve my parts problem, and I already have a restored H with an original heavy duty wide front.... I haven't totally decided, but one current H project and no extra storage kind of tips the hand. I'll have to see how bad the tranny is on my grandpa's tractor. It sure wouldn't be all that bad to fix up, but as you all know, it is worth more as parts than it would be in one piece.

looks alot like the 39 H I am going to be working on next. Mines missing quiet a bit of stuff as well. The fun part is gathering but it adds up.

do any of you guys know, whas there a special reason for the single rib front tires? i see than on alot of old fords in pictures and at shows, but i personally think there ugly, and don"t understand how they would steer good in loose dirt. thanks

The single ribs are a nitche thing. They cause less crop damage since there is less tire actually contacting the ground. That is the theory anyway.

The tire forms a "ditch" in the beet row and helps to "self steer" the next time around.
Still use the single ribs yet today here in the Red River Valley beet fields.
