Farmall H upper bolster oil or grease?

I am in the 3d year of the restoration of my 47 H and have finally got to the point where I have the bolster off and apart for striping, new seals and painting. The upper bolster where the stirring worm gear is located was packed with grease, due to the bad oil seals I’m sure. I know 30W oil was originally in the upper bolster but wanted your opinion on putting oil back in it after replacing the oil seals or is grease a better option? The pivot shaft is not worn where the lower oil seal rides.

I would have thought that originally, it would have been the same gear oil as the tranny. May I make a suggestion. I would recommend the gear grease that are used in the JD baler lube systems. It appears to be light grease, almost liquid. It'll stay in those seals a lot longer, and your steering won't get real stiff over time with regular grease.

I hear John Deere corn head grease works well.

If you're going to put oil in, make sure it is 85W-140 or SAE 90 weight.
