starter rod onsuper a

Looking at the starter switch diagram in the CaseIH online catalog it appears the Super A rod would have to be pushed to start. David............

C and Super A are pulled, I have both tractors. The B I drove as a kid had a push starter rod. A should be the same. You can also tell by the starter rod. Pull rods have a loop on the end, push rods a bend for your foot. This is a really strange question. The answer should be "whatever works".

Whatever works is my view, too.

And one of the things that never made any particular sense to me is that As were pulled and Bs were pushed. Why, I dunno. The architecture/geometry from the seat to the starter rod wasn't any different, but for some reason (or perhaps no reason at all) the switches on the tops of the starters were mounted differently.

Go figger. Myself, I'm mystified.

If you have the correct starter with the sw on the rear it would be a pull. The starters for the A and B will have the sw on the front of the starter and operate with a rod that is pushed. I notice some of the replies to this question dont know the difference either. Many starters have been replaced with rebuilt one and thus the starter sw got changed and so forth but now the rebuilts will list whether front or rear button is desired.
