Farmall 100-140 Fast Hitch

I've been thinking awhile about the fast hitch rockshaft fender mounts on 100, 130, 140. Are the fenders for these different than standard fenders or reinforced?
It seems like having the weight of a plow, disc, cultivator, etc hanging from the rockshaft would play havoc with the fenders or their mounts when implements are raised repeatedly and during transport.
 
Kip: I said the same thing about my 130, 50 years ago, it's still going. I use the hitch a lot, always have, and I've used it for quite heavy implements. If I'm travelling some distance with a heavy implement, I have two short chains I install between rear rockshaft and hitch cross shaft, to take load off hydraulics. That still leaves weight on fenders. I use those chains when spraying.

After 50 years, it's my opinion the weakest link on those hitches are the vertical lift links. At least that is all I've ever replaced.

The fenders are all the same from the beginning of Super A production, through to the end of 140 production. The Farmall A fenders were lighter material.
 
Kip: I've seen the back tips of those fenders bend sideways a 1/2" then spring right back, created by side draft. We had a neighbor break one of the rear rockshaft arms away from the shaft, and it was obvious side draft did it. There was no visable damage to the fender.

I quite regularly use a MF-25, 24 blade disk with 18" blades, behind my 130 and 140. I have a 3 point kit in conjunction with 1 point fast hitch.

Rich: I agree, it's really too much load, however both my 130 and 140 do lift it full height. I don't use it a lot, just do my garden, probably around an acre. I wouldn't try to disk all day for a week or so. In my sandy loam, I can pull it axle deep, but I can loose traction quite easily also. I have 12.4x24 rear tires with wheel weights. It tills the garden, and I bought the disk for $60. delivered.
