axel shaft farmall H

Hi I am replacing a rear right axel shaft. The key way is rounded
and I have gone through wheel clamps and two wheel centers
because the keys have sheered under torque.

does the axel shaft pull out or is there a snap ring. I took off the
outer housing and the bearing is exposed should it just pull out, or
is there more? I could not get it to budge outward.

Take out the pto unit and remove the bolt holding the bull gear to the axle and it should slide out.

The bull grear is the gear on the end of the axle that drives it.

I would suggest removing the rear grear case cover and working on it from the top. And getting yourself a(n I&T) manual for this tractor. They are readily available and have instructions and illustrations for most maintenece and repairs. See the top of the left column on this page.
